What should you do if a GLP-1 delivery arrives warm?

Contact the dispensing pharmacy before using a questionable shipment. The replacement policy and the medication’s storage requirements answer different questions.

The first call belongs to the pharmacy

FDA reports complaints about compounded GLP-1 deliveries arriving warm or inadequately refrigerated and advises against using injectable GLP-1 drugs that arrive in those conditions. Contact the dispensing pharmacy and prescriber for product-specific guidance. Putting a questionable shipment back into a refrigerator does not establish that it is usable.

Document the delivery without guessing its temperature history

Keep the shipping label, tracking record, package photographs and the time you received it. Note damaged packaging, missing cooling material or a delivery delay. A photograph of a melted ice pack cannot tell you the medicine’s temperature throughout transit. Avoid turning an observation into a conclusion about potency or sterility.

Ask who can authorize a replacement

The telehealth company, dispensing pharmacy and carrier may have different responsibilities. Ask the company which team owns a shipping complaint, what evidence it needs and whether it arranges a replacement or credit. Record the case number and written response. Free shipping says nothing about who pays when a shipment is delayed.

Read the policy before a future order

Our purchasing checklist is simple: replacement contact, reporting window, weekend support, signature requirements and the address-change deadline. Ask how a failed delivery is handled and whether shipment tracking is sent before the package arrives. A public policy that answers these points is more useful than a general promise of fast delivery.

Do not borrow another product’s storage rule

A branded pen, a compounded vial and a different concentration need not have interchangeable instructions. Use the instructions for the actual dispensed product and the pharmacist’s advice. This comparison does not establish an allowable time out of refrigeration. If a dose is due while the complaint is unresolved, ask the prescriber how to proceed.

A provider example

Our existing Gimme Care review records the following detail from its dated company evidence:

Email and patient portal; shipping and refund policies publish 8am–8pm Eastern support hours. No public phone number was found on the reviewed pages.

The example retains the review’s original evidence date; it is not a new verification of the provider’s terms. Confirm the current arrangement before paying.
