The real cost calculator

Every figure below is read out of the same roster the reviews are built from, so this tool and the review of the same company cannot disagree. It shows its arithmetic on purpose — the only reason to believe a number on this site is that you can check it.

How to check this yourself

Four rules produce every number above, and each one is visible in the table rather than hidden in the total.

1. The medication rung is the company's own. A one-month rung is billed once. A prepay rung prints its per-month rate multiplied by its term, and that product is what the card is charged today.
2. A required membership is part of the price. Where a company will not sell medication without a membership, the membership is added, at its published first-month rate where one exists. A membership that is optional is shown and not added.
3. A consultation fee is added only where the company publishes an amount. Where a company discloses a fee and publishes no figure, the line says so and adds nothing. We are not going to guess a number and print you a smaller total than you are going to pay.
4. A published range stays a range. Where a fee is quoted as a span, the total is quoted as a span too. Picking the low end would be the same trick this site exists to describe.

Anything the company's own pages leave unsettled is printed underneath the sum rather than resolved in our favor or theirs. Prices move; every company here carries the month it was read, and the method is here.

What this tool will not tell you

It will not price a company that publishes no ladder at all. That is 3 of the 27 companies we have reviewed: Henry Meds, Synergy Rx, Breeze Meds. Their reviews record that, and none of them appears in the picker, because a company with no published rung has nothing to add up.

A larger group publishes rungs and still publishes nothing you can buy for one month with no commitment: 8 of the 27, the 3 above plus 5 more. Those 5 are in the picker, priced on the rungs they do publish, and each review says what is missing.

It also will not tell you what a company charges after a prepay term ends, what shipping costs where a company does not publish it, or what a dose increase does to a price on a ladder that is not published. Those are gaps in what the companies publish, and this tool prints gaps as gaps.

Every company we can price

24 companies and 126 plan combinations, all computed by the same function that fills the picker above. Each row links that company's cost page, which carries its whole ladder priced out line by line.

“Cheapest month” is the medication rung plus any membership the company requires — the same number the review and the ranked lists print. “Plans priced” counts every combination of a medication rung and a membership term the company publishes, which is what the picker steps through.

Where the numbers come from

Each company's ladder was read off its own pages and dated, and the reasoning is in the review. Two pieces set out the pattern the numbers show: why the advertised GLP-1 price is almost never what you pay and whether a 12-month prepay actually saves you money.

Some companies here pay us a commission when a reader starts care through a marked link. It does not change a price we quote or the order of anything on this page — the picker is sorted by the cheapest single month, which you can re-derive yourself. Who pays us.
