The short version

In its favor

  • $200 buys one month of compounded semaglutide, no commitment
  • No membership fee on top
  • Clean FDA warning-letter record
  • Prescribers licensed in your state

Against it

  • No pharmacy named

What it is

Optimized Health is a cash-pay concierge clinic at 2727 E 32nd St in Joplin, Missouri, founded by Mathew and Michelle Hammons. Mathew Hammons, a physician assistant, is the prescribing clinician; he's licensed in Missouri with telehealth coverage in Kansas, Iowa, Utah and Washington, and those five are the only states served. The practice also sells testosterone and women's hormone therapy, peptides, IV drips, laser hair removal and skin treatments.

Weight loss runs on two tracks. The all-inclusive one bundles compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide from an unnamed compounding pharmacy with supervision and shipping in one monthly price. The brand track sends a Wegovy, Zepbound or Wegovy pill prescription to your own pharmacy, which bills you for the medication, while the clinic charges $100 for the first visit and $59 per follow-up.

Visits happen in Joplin or by video, labs can be drawn at a local site, and compounded medication is mailed to you. Insurance isn't billed; HSA and FSA cards work.

What it actually costs

Optimized Health prices by drug
DrugMonth to monthLowest rate on a longer plan
Compounded semaglutide$200None listed
Compounded tirzepatide$250None listed

Semaglutide is $200 a month at the entry dose, then $225 and $265 at the two higher tiers. Tirzepatide begins at $250, and its higher tiers carry no published figure; your rate is confirmed before treatment starts. Both run month to month without a contract.

The monthly price covers the medication, the first evaluation, dose changes, follow-up visits and shipping. Lab panels aren't included and are charged whenever the clinician orders one. Missing an appointment, or canceling with less than 24 hours' notice, can cost $50.

On the brand track you pay twice: the pharmacy for the drug and Optimized for supervision, $100 up front and $59 for each follow-up. Its FAQ notes that the Wegovy pill's $149 manufacturer price covers only the two starter doses, with maintenance doses at $299 a month before any clinic fee.

Written payment terms are thin. The terms of use make fees payable when a service is given and say refunds follow “our clinic policy,” which isn't posted.

Who it's wrong for

Outside Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Utah and Washington? Optimized Health can't see you by telehealth.

Skip it if you want every tirzepatide price before you start. Only the $250 entry tier is printed.

Planning on Zepbound or the Wegovy pill? The pharmacy bills you for the drug, and the clinic adds $100 for the first visit and $59 per follow-up.

A written refund policy is a must? The terms point to a clinic policy nobody has posted.

Budget for labs. They're charged separately whenever ordered, and no lab price appears on the site.

From $200/mo, medication included, pause or stop anytime.”
  4. The brand track, from /semaglutide/ and /medical-weight-loss/: “If you'd rather use brand-name Wegovy, we can prescribe that instead: you pay the pharmacy directly for the medication, and our clinical supervision is $100 for your first visit and $59 per follow-up.” The FAQ “Should I just get the $149 oral semaglutide pill instead?” answers “The $149 price covers the two starter doses. The 4 mg tier rises to $199 after August 2026, and maintenance doses cost $299 per month before any clinical support.” These are relayed manufacturer figures paid to a pharmacy, so no brand or oral block is written.
  5. 6. Who does what: the clinician profile on /semaglutide/ says Mathew Hammons, PA-C “is licensed in Missouri with telehealth coverage in Kansas, Iowa, Utah, and Washington”; the terms say it serves patients “within states where our clinicians are licensed.” The About page: “Optimized Health was founded by Mathew and Michelle Hammons.” Footer: “2727 E 32nd St, Suite 9, Joplin, MO 64804”, “(417) 707-1150”, “Mon–Fri 7:30am–5:30pm CST”, “© 2026 Optimized Health. 7. No FDA enforcement action on record: FDA's warning-letter search on “Optimized Health”, “optimized”, “Mathew Hammons”, returns no letter addressed to Optimized Health, its operator, the named pharmacies or Optimized Health. Search FDA's warning letters.
