When does a prepay term pay off?

A term is only cheaper if you finish it. Every prepay rung in the roster is below, with the month it catches up with paying monthly and what you have already paid for if you stop first.

87 prepay rungs across 26 of the 51 companies we have reviewed. The comparison is always the same one: their own month-to-month rate for the same medication, against the single charge their term takes on day one.

How to check any row above

What the table shows once you read all of it

2 of the 87 rungs here cost the same or more than paying month to month for the same number of months: Breeze Meds (3-month plan), Synergy Rx (3-month plan). A term is usually a discount. It is not automatically one, and these are the ones that are not.

2 of the 87 never break even inside their own term, and 35 do not break even until the last month of it or later — which means the discount only exists for someone who was always going to stay the whole way. That is the thing a prepay price is designed not to say out loud.

Ordering inside each section is the break-even month, earliest first, then company name; you can re-derive it from the rows. This page carries every prepay rung in the roster rather than a selection, and stops being one page at 130 rungs, at which point it gets pagination. Prices move; each ladder carries the month it was read, and the method is here. Who pays us.

The same question written out at length is in does a 12-month prepay actually save money. What one month costs is on what will I actually pay; what a year costs is on the twelve-month projection; one plan itemized is on the real cost calculator; the advertised figure against the bill is on advertised against actual. Companies that ask for no commitment at all are on the no-prepay board.
