And what the membership adds to Novo's own price, per month and per term.
On a 12-month plan, about $26 a month less than NovoCare's own $349; on anything shorter, more. Novo's subscription takes the pen to $249 a month on 12 months, and Ro and WeightWatchers both add a $74 membership, so a month lands at $323. Month to month, the same pen through Ro is $498, and each longer term is paid for upfront.
What this piece found
Between $323 and $498 for the pen at its maintenance doses, depending on the company and how many months you pay for at once. NovoCare, Novo's own self-pay pharmacy, charges $349 a month with no membership. Every company below charges Novo's price for the drug and adds its own fee on top, so the membership is the whole difference.
| Company and plan | Medication | Membership | A month, all in | Against NovoCare |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NovoCare, month to monthNone | $349 | $0 | $349 | Baseline |
| Ro, month to monthMonthly plan | $349 | $149 | $498 | $149 more |

| WeightWatchers, standard monthlyMed+ 6-month plan (shortest) | $349 | $84 | $433 | $84 more |
| WeightWatchers, 3-month commitmentMed+ 6-month plan (shortest) | $329 | $84 | $413 | $64 more |

| WeightWatchers, 12-month commitmentMed+ 12-month plan | $249 | $74 | $323 | $26 less |
| LifeMD, month to monthProgram and provider fee. Medication price is Novo's; the company's public pages don't print it | $349 | $149 | $498 | $149 more |
A month, all in, is our arithmetic: the medication price plus the membership rate for the same term. Rows on the tinted background cost less than NovoCare's month. First-month promotions are left out because each applies once: Ro's $39 and LifeMD's $39 first month, WeightWatchers' $25, and the $199 pen price for two fills at 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg. Wegovy HD (7.2 mg) is $399 month to month at NovoCare, and WeightWatchers prices it at $249 on the 12-month commitment too.
WeightWatchers publishes no month-to-month or 3-month Med+ plan, so its shorter medication terms are paired with the 6-month membership at $84, the shortest it sells. That's why its 3-month month ($413) sits below Ro's ($428), and it also means a 3-month medication commitment at WeightWatchers comes with a six-month membership bill. Full ladders are on the Ro, WeightWatchers and LifeMD reviews, and the brand semaglutide page lists every company here that sells it.
Between $74 and $149 a month, and on every term but twelve months it adds more than Novo's discount takes off. Novo prices the subscription $20 under NovoCare on 3 months, $50 on 6 and $100 on 12. Ro's membership on those terms is $99, $89 and $74. Only the last pair comes out below NovoCare, by $26 a month.
Ro puts the saving another way: You can save $150/mo on a 12-month plan of the Wegovy pen or $50/mo on a 12-month plan of the Wegovy pill.
That $150 is the gap between $249 and the $399 Wegovy HD month. Against the $349 you'd pay at 1 mg to 2.4 mg, the 12-month saving is $100 a month, which is the figure Novo uses in its own release. WeightWatchers labels the same number the same way: “Save $1,800/yr for highest dose.”
What the membership buys is the prescriber, messaging and follow-up; NovoCare still needs a prescription from somewhere. What's included in the monthly price covers that side, and the LifeMD cost breakdown shows how its program fee is priced across its own pages.
No, at any of the three, and how much it costs depends on whose terms you signed. At NovoCare, three months is $1,047 and nothing more is owed. The figures below are our arithmetic on each company's own published terms, for someone who stops after three months of the pen at 1 mg to 2.4 mg on a 12-month plan.
| Company | What the terms say | Spent on 3 months |
|---|---|---|
| NovoCare, month to month | Billed a month at a time; nothing is prepaid. | $1,047 |
| WeightWatchers | $2,988 upfront for the medication. Unshipped months can be canceled, with the refund worked at $349, so three shipped months cost $1,047 and $1,941 comes back. Med+ is owed to the end of its 12-month term: $25 plus eleven months at $74.Assumes all nine unshipped months qualify as “eligible refunds”. | $1,886 |
| Ro | Membership and medication are both paid upfront. The membership is non-refundable once paid, and Ro's returns page says all sales of prescription products are final. Ro publishes nothing on refunding unshipped months of a prepaid medication plan. The figure assumes nothing comes back, because nothing Ro publishes says it does. | $3,876 |
| LifeMD | LifeMD's terms rule out a prorated refund of any subscription fee for the current period. Its public pages print no 12-month Wegovy price to multiply. | Not published |
WeightWatchers' medication terms are the most forgiving of the three, and the reason is the repricing: the months you did take are charged at $349, so the drug ends up costing exactly what NovoCare would have. The membership is what stopping early costs you there, $839 for three months of use. At Ro the exposure is the whole $3,876, unless Ro says otherwise when you ask.
The same question across every prepay plan on this site, with break-even months, is in does a 12-month prepay save money?, and the prepay break-even tool runs it on any plan you type in.
Because neither company lists it before you're a patient. Ro's pricing page gives the pen at $349 month to month and says You’ll see available multi-month plan options for Wegovy pen and Wegovy pill after the initial manufacturer promotional discounts end.
LifeMD's weight-management and Wegovy pages print the pen “starting at $199”, the program fee at $149 a month or $75 “when paid up front”, and no 3-, 6- or 12-month medication price. Both are named in Novo's release as launch partners.
So the Ro and LifeMD subscription rows above use Novo's own figures, and the table flags each one. Novo says program terms vary by platform
, which is a reason to ask for the term price in writing before you pay. If LifeMD charges Novo's 12-month price and puts you on its $75 up-front program rate, a month would be $324; LifeMD doesn't print that pairing, and it doesn't say how many months “up front” covers.
Not at Hims yet. Novo named Hims & Hers and Sesame as “coming online soon” on March 31, 2026. Hims's Wegovy pen page still lists the pen from $199 “billed monthly, membership required”, with its membership at $149 a month after a $39 first month, and no multi-month medication price. Sesame isn't reviewed here.
On price alone, only when you're sure of twelve months and you'd otherwise pay NovoCare's $349 anyway. That's the one case in the table where a company comes out lower, by $26 a month. Shorter terms and month-to-month plans cost more than going direct, by $64 to $149 a month.
Insurance changes the sum entirely. Ro and LifeMD both say they'll work on coverage for the pen, and a covered prescription isn't priced by any of these tables. Does anyone take your insurance? covers which companies say what, and who fills your prescription covers where the medication comes from.
